CONTEST & TOURNAMENT FORMATS

A golf outing can be a great opportunity to share a forever moment with family, friends, and co-workers. Here are some additional ideas for you to consider in making your outing even more enjoyable.

CONTEST FORMATS

Choose from any of the contests listed below to add an extra element of excitement and competition to your outing. Prizes for each of the contests are to be supplied by you. We would be more than happy to supply you with some suggestions & options from our pro shop.

Closest to the Pin
Precision says it all. This is your opportunity to really test the skill and precision of each golfer. Take your pick from either the third or fifth holes, you may even choose to select both, and see which golfer has the skill and precision to place his/her ball closest to the pin from the tee.

Closest to the Line
Accuracy is the key to this contest. Tee it up from any of the holes and the player who places his/her tee shot closest to the line in the fairway will be the winner.

Shortest Drive
This is a great way to get the outing started. A perfect reward for the beginning golfer or better yet, an excellent way to put the pressure on the golf pro within your group. Everyone is watching so you had better be on top of your game from the start.

Longest Drive
Take a deep breath, relax, and let it fly. The longest drive contest will provide someone in your outing with the bragging rights of being the hardest hitter. Grab your driver, tee it up from the sixth hole and let the big dog eat.

Longest Putt
Reading the slope of the green will be the key to achieving success. The player who sinks the longest putt will move to the top of the leader board in this contest.

Hole In One
The options are unlimited, you can offer a prize for any golfer who hits a hole in one or assign a prize to a specific hole.

TOURNAMENT FORMATS
Looking to change the format of the game? This is your opportunity to add a little twist to your outing. Select from any of the formats listed below and let the fun begin.

Best Ball
Each golfer plays each hole just as if it is a regular round of golf. Upon the completion of each hole, the team will use the score of the golfer who recorded the lowest total for each hole. Each team must use the score of each golfer at least once during the round.

Scramble
Each player tees off at each hole. The team will determine which ball has the best lie. From there, each player will hit. Once again the team will decide which ball has the best lie and continue until the hole is completed. The team must use at least one tee shot during the round. This is a great game for beginners.

50 / 50
Are you tired of trying to figure out which club to use? Make it simple – a 50 / 50 choice. Require each player to select only two clubs. All other clubs should be left in the car because once you make your decision that is it. Then it is off to the first tee and let the fun begin! How hard can it be?

Alternate Shot
Golfers will play in pairs and alternate shots. The players will alternate who tees off at each hole. Teamwork is the key!

Shotgun Start
A shotgun start can be a great way for everyone in the group to start and finish their round approximately at the same time. A shotgun start will require your group to provide enough golfers, a minimum of 60 golfers, to adequately use a shotgun start. There is an additional fee of $5 per golfer in order to close the course exclusively for your outings usage.
